A dark moist paste of beef, spices, and salt that dissolves quickly in hot water. Serving Suggestions Use wherever beef broth or consume is called for in a reicpe. 1 teaspoon is equilvant to 1 bouillon cube, but is more flavorful. Delicious as a plain broth, or "beef up" the flavors of soups, stews, gravies or casseroles.

(More customer reviews)These instant potato flakes taste great and do not contain sulfites like many commercial brands. I do wish they included some simple instructions on the bag. We used the instructions from Bob's Red Mill potato flakes (now discontinued). For 2 servings: heat 3/4C of water to boiling, add 1T butter or margarine and 1/4tsp of salt. Remove from heat and add 1/4C cold milk or soymilk. Add approximately 2/3C of potato flakes (more or less depending on how stiff you like them). Stir gently and fluff with a fork. Do not whip.

(More customer reviews)I was nostalgic for old-fashioned egg noodle dishes (like casseroles, kugels, and noodles w/ farmer cheese and pepper) but wanted them a little healthier. I don't think that anyone else makes this anymore, but that's o.k. because these are yummy. A healthy trick I've learned is to get a close approximation (trial & error) of how much water the noodles absorb while cooking, then after bringing just that amount of water to a boil, cook the noodles covered on the lowest possible heat occasionally freeing them from the bottom w/ a wooden spatula. That way all B-vitamins and minerals stays in the noodles instead of being lost in the water. It takes a bit of practice not to end up w/ a solid block of noodles. Adding a little oil or butter halfway through cooking helps.
Anyway, whether you cook them like this or using the standard directions, they're delicious and hold together better than some other whole wheat noodles I've tried in the past.

I'm thrilled that he likes this puree of broccoli, zucchini, peas, and couscous. It's a chunkier style than many other purees, so it's definitely something to try once your baby does well with the stage 2 foods. It doesn't have the big chunks like the chicken & stars meal or the carrot & corn one, but it's got a "bumpy" texture because of the broccoli and the couscous, so your baby needs to be OK with that thicker texture.
This particular blend is difficult to find, so we buy in bulk whenever it's available.

When I have friends who tell me they don't like curry, I make them try this. It is sweet (being made with coconut milk and cinnamon) and savory (having potatoes and peanuts), only mildly spicy. Since it is made with coconut milk, it is also naturally dairy free!
It is also highly adaptable - the recipe calls for potatoes, onions and chicken, but you could also use beef, shrimp, pork, or throw in some carrots, whatever you want!

Although 12 boxes is a lot of barley, I was able to sell some of them to friends for cost at $3.17 each, which includes the S & H. Also a local grocer dealing in organic foods took a couple of them.
Putting barley in any soup home made or canned adds a flavor I really like, so in two weeks I have used up one 11 ounce box already. It only takes 10 minutes heating the soup with the barley to cook it, either in the microwave or on the stove.
Just thinking about it makes my mouth water, mmmmmmmmm.

There are quite a few ingredients to be called a clear broth soup! Why add wheat and wheat gluten??? and monosodium glutamate? Now I have to look up succinic acid, sodium citrate, disodium inosinate, and disodium guanylate. Looks like alot of sugar and salt. You can do better than this Kikkoman. hmmm. Guess I will wait until I get home to have my home made veggie broth soup.

(More customer reviews)In my experience, this is the best tasting chicken broth you can buy, hands down. No other broth is close. We do a lot of cooking and I love to make my own homemade soups, stews, etc, but sometimes you don't have time to make your own stock. That's when we turn to the Swanson (full salt) chicken broth.
Before you ask, yes, we've tried all the other options at the various markets around us (Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, SuperFresh, Safeway) and nothing else compares.
Also, the funny thing is that the Swanson Low-Sodium broth doesn't compare either (even after you add in additional salt. The low-sodium version has a much gamier smell and flavor. Definitely go with the full salt version (even if you have to water it down to decrease the sodium density). The umami flavor you get in this broth is incomparable relative to its peers.

(More customer reviews)I searched everywhere for a Gluten Free boullion and this is it. It also tastes better than other brands I've had and rivals Better Than Boullion brand. Prefer it for long term storage as well. I use 2 cubes (sometimes crumbled and sprinkled on top of, or mixed into meat) with 1/4c dehydrated onion in place of Lipton Onion Soup Mix in all my usual recipes.
I wish Amazon would emphasize that it is Gluten Free (it says it right on the jar but you cannot always read it in the picture) it would have made my search easier.

My own fault but still I was upset with myself for not catching this error sooner. When the case arrived today and I discovered I had purchased 1 pint containers for almost $32 instead, I cried.
