(More customer reviews)The noodles that come with this pack are already cooked and soft and vacuum-sealed. They're like authentic fresh udon noodles. Just don't overcook them, no more than three minutes at a full boil, otherwise they get too soggy/soft. The soup base is rather plain but does have a mild chicken flavor but it isn't meant to taste like spicy oriental-style ramen noodle soup seasoning packets. This really is meant to be garnished with vegetables for a more complete meal, otherwise it doesn't seem very substantial. I add cooked fiddlehead ferns and spinach, sometimes thinly sliced beef also. One serving per package. About 280 cal and 1.5 grams (1500 mg) sodium per pack/serving. OUCH! But that's very common for these types of soup. I generally don't drink the soup anyway so it's not an issue. These noodles are not fried so there's no oil, just a gram of fat per serving/pack.
