(More customer reviews)I( recently had surgery for lung cancer back in August, 2010. After being in ICU for 31 days, and a total of 34 days in the VA hospital, I find myself craving bone marrow. I had lost my appetite for food, but about three weeks ago, I suddenly had a craving for bone marrow. All my life, I loved the marrow from the bones, but now I just had to have it!
I went to several markets meat departments and tried to get them to order marrow bones for me with no luck, so I went on line looking for a place to purchase marrow bones.
I found Kosher.com! I have since ordered a total of 20 pounds of their marrow bones, and I now roast 4 pounds a week to satisfy my craving. These are large shin bones cut to about two inches thick. I season them with extra virgin olive oil, garlic powder, black pepper, and sea salt, and cook them on a rack at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. Simple and delicious!
I have gone back to the gym this week, and hope these marrow bones will help me to gain all the weight I lost from surgery, and also to increase my appetite.
