It's quite well-seasoned, with the beans giving adequate "body". Though I enjoy a number of other Dr. McDougall's soups, this is among my favorite.

Just add water & pop it in the microwave for 3 minutes, for over a pint of noodle & spice rich hot soup... great during the cold winter. Add your own ingredients or spices to make it richer. These usually sell in local & online stores for 11 cents each.
Their cup of soup products is 25-29 cents each because you can eat it right out of the provided container. The over a full cup of soup cooks in 2 minutes in the microwave. Buy them by the case to save more. They have a shelf life of years with no refrigeration.
These are not intended as a substitute for a full balanced meal, but as a hot snack or hot quick lunch.
There's a lot of whining about nutritional content of these. But they're almost about as nutritional as any brand of soup out there except the most chunky & expensive brands. Whattya want for 11-25 cents?
I think they're very handy & filling when a hurry or on a diet, for the price.
I've add cheese, powdered cheese, a little tomato sauces, or powdered garlic & onion to these to make them taste extra super. Use you imagination, they're incredibly cheap, hot, & ready in minutes.

Much less sodium, lasts 10 times as long in the fridge and the flavor is more akin to a home made stock from reducing beef bones then the flavorless bouillions or stocks. It is great to add to a pot roast or chili or as that extra flavor to a quick beef stew. Absolutely love, I buy this over and over again. Wish I could get this locally!

But then they became very hard to find. Then impossible to find. I was thrilled to see them available on Amazon and I order regularly.
Cook noodles in plenty of water until just tender. Do not over cook. Rinse well. Heat chicken broth - add noodles and serve with chopped scallions and soy sauce. YUM.

(More customer reviews)This is an awesome kit. I thought the price was a little high until I got the kit. I love this soup so I risked the price and it is well worth it.
I have already made 2 batches and have plenty of stuff to make it at least a couple or few more times.
The Bowls are very nice a hard plastic and a nice big hearty size. I really like the design they look like they are from a chinese resteraunt.
I like the recipe being laminated it makes it very easy to use and keep clean.
As for the soup it is delicious it taste like a resteraunt. You get all the stuff but cornstarch and meat and chicken stock. But you probably already have all that stuff.
The soup is easy to make and come out great, the recipe add a little more rice vinegar than I like but no bid deal I put less in the second time and it tasted just like my local resteraunts soup. I eat this soup at every chinese resteraunt I go to and this is better than 75% of the resteraunts i've tried.
I highly recommend this kit, it is really great.
